Who's doing what for HABB this month
Don't forget to tell HABB what you're doing to raise funds. We'll want to cover all your activities on the new HABB website when it launches next month

  • Chambers Hair Design and Image International in Spalding, Lincolnshire, is hosting a Dryer Cup golf day on 30 August. Thirty customers will play to win the Dryer Cup with all 18 holes sponsored by local businesses and prizes donated by TIGI and Paul Mitchell. The proceeds will be split between HABB and the local Sue Ryder charity.
  • A massive thank you to Mark Leeson for raising £1,050 for HABB at his Summer 07 event.
  • The annual Freelance Hair & Beauty Federation Inspirations conference saw the Fundraising Fortnight Challenge Cup, sponsored by Denman, won by Luton member Elizabeth Oark. John Angus from Denman presented her with the trophy.
  • Why your help matters
HABB has provided a grant to a 39-year-old hairdresser who has been unable to work. She suffers from scoliosis and an operation 18 months ago to repair some discs resulted in her losing all feeling from the waist down. Now she can only walk short distances with crutches. HABB has also helped a mother who has been hairdressing for 15 years with a grant to help fix a floor lift in her house for her 10-year-old disabled daughter who will also join the Children's Welfare Fund.

    Who we help
We agreed to buy a new bed for a young girl whose mother was unable to afford one without support form HABB. Her mum suffers from mental health problems and isn't able to work anymore. It's just a small gesture, but on that means a lot to this family - the girl is sleeping better and her mum can concentrate on their day-to-day needs
