hob Raises £2,135 for HABB
As part of the 5-Live HABB season, the hob salon group helped to raise a much needed £2,135 when they presented a seminar at the Wella Professionals World Studio in London, recently.
Led by British Hairdresser of the Year nominee and hob international creative director, Akin Konizi along with the hob Artistic Team, the audience were provided with an energy filled, professionally choreographed seminar which incorporated technical step by steps, catwalk style finished looks and an insight to the success of Akin and the group as a whole.
The evening opened with an introduction to HABB by fundraising committee member Sheila Abrahams from the FHBF and was compered by Wella Professionals National Technical Manager Nigel Meredith. The 12 models presented by the hob Artistic Team enabled the audience to see up close the trend focus of the team, which incorporated numerous techniques including geometric, texture, multi-faceted layering, soft undercutting, disconnection, classical cutting techniques and even the new male grooming trends.
The evening opened with a choreographed dance routine with three models boasting geometric cuts. Throughout the seminar, Akin and the hob art team presented 6 step by step cutting techniques Ð five female and one male, whilst sharing with the audience their inspirations and technical tips to create the finished styles. Six catwalk models also took to the stage and the team then explained the cutting and colouring techniques.
The recent launch of the hob Academy was also shared with the audience. Akin explained how the hob directors dream for a dedicated education programme within the group, had now been realised and the involvement the artistic team now have in the developing the hob stylists. Akin was also encouraged by the compere to discuss his award wins and the growth of the hob salons and give insightful anecdotes to the interested audience.
The evening closed with a stunning collection of the finished hair models in a dance and catwalk routine. To complete the night, hob kindly donated a raffle prize to win a course at the hob Academy to raise an additional £135 on the night.
"We really enjoyed sharing our philosophies, techniques and ideas with the audience at the HABB Live Seminar. I think the HABB does such an important job for our industry and as such, we are delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile cause and to do whatever we can to help HABB," explains Akin.
