1st Ever Dryer Cup Raises £1,379 for HABB
The first ever 'Dryer Cup' organised by Chambers Hair Design and Image International in Spalding, Lincolnshire, raised a staggering £2,758 from their event which was split equally between industry charity Hair and Beauty Benevolent (HABB) and the local Sue Ryder Care charity.
Thirty customers from each salon paid a fee to play in the hope of winning the Dryer Cup, with Chambers Hair Design winning the cup. With all 18 holes sponsored by local businesses, prizes donated by Tigi, Paul Mitchell, Ideal Hair Supplies and Barkers Hair & Beauty supplies, plus an additional name the nearest 'Hair Pin' and 'Longest Blow Drive' competition being promoted in local shops, the day of friendly rivalry is now set to become a regular bi-annual event.
Team captains, Pep Pasqualino of Image International and Frank Martino of Chambers Hair Design pulled the day together, "It was such a great day, and everyone really pulled together and enjoyed the friendly rivalry. We definitely see this becoming something of a local event - the whole town supported us and we raised not only money but attention for these two great charities. It was important for us to help raise funds for HABB because it's our industry charity and we want our teams and customers to know how important it is."
