April 2008 news round-up
Who's Doing What For HABB?
HABB offers huge thanks to: RAINBOW ROOM INTERNATIONAL which has chosen HABB as its charity of the year
and is dedicating a whole year of charity fundraising to this worthy cause. The initiative sees all 11 Rainbow Room International salons
across Scotland battle it out to see who can raise the most money for the charity through a series of inspirational fundraising events over the next
12 months.
RAE PALMER with SCHWARZKOPF PROFESSIONAL is launching the HABB Graduate competition for up-and-coming stylists educated to Level 2 in NVQ hairdressing. The regional contest will culminate in a grand final on 16 June where 15 finalists will battle it out to win a fabulous prize including a year's apprenticeship at Rae Palmer Hairdressing in Southsea, Hampshire. The competition aims to unite local colleges with HABB, raising money and awareness for us while providing exciting training sessions for students, and rooting out up-and-coming talent.

HABB Day: 2 May
What do you have planned? HABB Day makes a real different to people who need your help. Here's what you need to do:
1. Select a person to collect the money
2. Ask every team member to donate £1 on Friday 2 May
3. Send you money to HABB
And for those who love to go that extra mile, why not host a dress-up/dress-down day, wear fancy dress, donate your tips on the day -
anything you like!
If you're stuck for ideas, this is what some top names are doing on the day: Jo Hansford's team are charging their stylists £5 and assistants £1 to wear jeans; Richard Ward is requesting £2 to wear non-uniform and trainers; one seanhanna salon has organised an 80s day, and Sharon Malcolm has persuaded her team to run six miles.
Donations can be sent by cheque, paid by credit card, or donated via www.justgiving.com/hbb/donate on the Hair and Beauty Benevolent page.
HABB wants to know how your day went and to use your photos in the press and on the HABB website - so don't forget to take some snaps and send them in.
