What We Do
HABB is the professional hair and beauty industry’s charity; an independent service dedicated solely to helping hairdressers and beauty therapists who find themselves facing challenging times.
Since it launched in 1853, HABB has always been there for people just like you, many of whom had nowhere else to turn.
HABB receives more than 200 applications for help each year and currently has more than 100 long term beneficiaries.
How We Help
HABB is 100% committed to helping hair and beauty professionals in their hour of need.
The help we provide comes in different forms, depending on the recipient’s needs, but we often support people in the following ways:
- Regular quarterly payments to people who are struggling to get by due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Emergency one-off grants to help with a short-term requirements
- Providing children under 16 with holiday money, a clothing allowance, Christmas and birthday presents.
- Training and equipment to help people learn new skills or update their skills.
Please be aware that that HABB does not help with debt, loan payments or bankruptcy fees except for in exceptional circumstances. Home improvements will only be considered if they are adaptations related to disability or other health conditions.
