The Hair & Beauty Benevolent (HABB) is the official industry charity, dedicated to helping hair and beauty professionals facing difficulties in life. Since 1853, HABB has offered financial support and funding to individuals and their families facing illness, bereavement or financial hardship.

HABB makes life easier by providing special equipment and house modifications for those that need it, as well as furniture and equipment to help disabled hairdressers and beauty therapists continue working.

Through HABB's Children’s Fund, specialist indoor and outdoor equipment is provided, holidays for poorly and sometimes terminally-ill children, as well as essentials such as school uniforms and bedding. Monthly pocket money, and clothing, as well as gifts throughout the year on birthdays and religious festivals like Christmas, are also provided.

For many people, contributing to HABB is a way of putting something back into the industry that has been so good to them. For some, it’s the realisation that success can be fleeting, and unexpected events can completely change your circumstances. Others are moved by the stories of the people that the Benevolent supports.

To help, all you have to do is get involved. Whether that is by becoming a member, organising your own fundraising events or attending our events, it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that you are involved, and you are playing your part in helping HABB help as many people as possible.

The Hair & Beauty Benevolent is your charity, dedicated solely to helping fellow professionals in the hair and beauty industry if they find themselves and their families facing hard times.
